Melin Llynnon and milling
  1. Melin Llynnon was built in 1775-1776
  2. It is called a tower mill because the machinery is within a stone tower and has a moving top
  3. The name of the first miller was Thomas Jones
  4. The Mill contains four floors
  5. Melin Llynnon is the only working windmill in Wales
  6. Anglesey had a plentiful supply of stone suitable for millstones from several quarries.
  7. The best stone came from the limestone quarries at Penmon
  8. Water and windmills replaced the original method of grinding corn with a quern stone
  9. In order to work, the sails must face the wind
  10. The wooden cogs are usually made of apple wood
